Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl cream butter; add sugars and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla extract, mixing well.
Mix together flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop batter by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Makes 48 cookies.
