Holly: Move Success!
Well, we made the big move (3 miles down the road) over the weekend. Overall, it was very successful.
The morning of the move I woke up with a sore throat, stuffy nose and my body was achy. THAT, was not part of the plan. I was trying to do last minute packing that morning, even though I wasn’t feeling well, when I started feeling dizzy and almost fainted! I guess my body was telling me to take it easy. So, that is what I did for the rest of the day. My cousin came in and packed up the rest of the kitchen so I didn’t have to. I basically sat and directed traffic. Now, believe me, I don’t mind directing things but I am also a hands on person and it killed me to be unable to help.
The next day I was feeling a bit better and thought I could unpack boxes. I did that for most of the day. Well, I pulled some stomach muscles or something but I definitely over did it, AGAIN! I was a bit freaked out that I was going to put myself into premature labor! I stayed off of my feet the rest of that day and on Sunday my mom watched Brett and my dad came and actually helped me unpack heavier things (so my hubby could unpack other areas of the house).
This was the least in control of move than I have ever been. It was weird for me to have my dad and husband going back and doing the final packing. I had to ask my dad or hubby where they may have put this or that. But, it was a good learning experience for me. I don’t ALWAYS have to be in control. I learned that during my pregnancies because you aren’t in control of your body while pregnant and this move just took it one step further.
