Lisa: Mother’s Day Treat

Pregnancy & child labor has forever changed my skin…yes, that’s right, my skin! If the stretch marks, double chin and hair loss weren’t enough, my skin was added in the mix. My makeup was no longer cutting it. No matter how much makeup I applied, the dark bags, lovely hormonal blemishes and…dun, dun, DUN…wrinkles couldn’t be hidden! To make things worse, I now have a quarter of the time in the morning to get myself ready for work (I have about 20-30 minutes to get myself completely ready)….so I would forgo the eyeliner and chapstick became a regular staple in my makeup routine.

So what does this have to do with Mother’s Day?

When my husband asked what I wanted for Mother’s Day, I jumped at the chance to buy all new makeup AND have a makeup artist show me how to apply the makeup for my new found skin (Blushed Makeup Artistry). The makeup artist walked me through all the different products that would work best for my skin and needs…she even taught me tips on quick ways to apply eyeliner and blush. When I left my appointment, I was a new woman!

As I still continue to adjust to mommyhood (yes, even after 13 months), I find that all these little quirks, like my skin altering and the stretch marks, don’t become something I dwell on anymore. Mother’s Day is not only a great opportunity for us to cash in on a day of relaxation, but also to remember why we went through these changes and what makes it all worth it….our kids!

Enjoy your Mother’s Day!

Glad you had a good time – I think I may need to go down this route so could use a recommendation!
