About Mommyfriend: Hi, I’m Mommyfriend Lori, proud wife and mother of 2 amazing boys. I am a lover of words, french fries, the clearance rack and good hair days. Mommyfriend is a family affair illustrated by my husband and inspired by my kids, we’d love to have you stop by and meet the family!
A Match Made in Heaven
You may have heard the adage, “You don’t pick your children, your children pick you.”
Immediately I’m filled with visions of adorable little cherub babies in Heaven looking down on the women of the world. In my mind, these women are walking fast along the sidewalks of Manhattan and I’m not really sure why. Those precious cherub babies are looking down; one (or more) spotted you and happily ever after began.
Have you ever wondered how you got so lucky to be blessed with such amazing children? Sure you have, but have you ever wondered how your children chose such amazing parents? Me neither, but I love the idea, especially since I’ve never been to Manhattan.
From the moment our motherhood adventure begins it is filled with heartwarming and heart-breaking experiences that define us and change us. Our job as a mother may have had a beginning on those busy streets of Manhattan, but it has no end; our love is a love for the ages. We live for our children, willingly sacrifice for our children and would do it again a million times over for our children, gladly.
Yes, dear Mommy Friends, I think these qualities make us pretty amazing indeed. We are blessed to be given the opportunity to grow young minds and develop strong character but the gift is reciprocal; our love is an eternal exchange.
My heart overflows with gratitude toward my sons for filling my rainbow with colors I never dared imagine until now.
Thank your child for choosing you to be their mommy. Sure, it may confuse them (as it did mine) but they may just remember you said it one day and that is one beautiful memory.
My wife and I definitely feel blessed by the little ones who chose us to be their parents
It’s a funny way of looking at it, but I’m sure our kids will get a kick out of it.
Mommyfriend rocks! If you don’t follow her blog, be sure to check it out.

This is so beautiful! My kiddos are both adopted from Korea and we always tell them we picked the best ones. Maybe THEY picked the best parents
Either way, I couldn’t live without them. Children teach us about love in a way that nothing else can. ~Laura
Lovely post – thank you Lori!
