Review: A friend recommended this book to me when my daughter was already about 11 months old and man do I wish I had it sooner. This review is short and brief. GO BUY IT RIGHT NOW!!!! Why you ask? Because this book is the instruction manual we all wish had come with our little bundles as we brought them home from the hospital. The good doctor breaks his book into three sections. The first section spans the time of pregnancy to 3 years of age. The pregnancy and newborn section are several pages long going in detail about what to expect and what to try. The subsequent ages are a little shorter but give the parent insight as to how your child is developing emotionally as well as physically. I will tell you that the small paragraph on tantrums being healthy at about 15 months really helped me as I was beginning to think I was the worst mom ever because MY CHILD WAS NEVER GOING TO HAVE TANTRUMS! Turns out they all do and it is their healthy way of figuring things out! I not only read the section that correlates with my daughters age I will always read ahead to the next age to see what the future holds or what I should be looking out for.
The second section is Challenges in Development. This section includes topics such as allergies, bed wetting, discipline, divorce, sleep problems, potty training, ect. Too many to list!!!! The last section is devoted to allies in development like you, grandparents, doctors, and caregivers.
I really could go on and on about this book but you really just have to see for yourself. I go to this resource several times a month and I have a feeling you will too! Happy Parenting!
